Hands-on Trainings and online Team Coaching – COST

participatory running, hosting and harvesting of the MC1 meetings

The COST Association (Cooperation in Science and Technology) is an international non-profit association, comprising 36 member countries plus a cooperating state. COST is the leading intergovernmental network facilitating cooperation between researchers and the European network with the greatest scope for transnational cooperation of research activities funded at national level. Its mission is to promote revolutionary scientific and technological developments leading to new concepts and products and, through such developments, to contribute to strengthening Europe’s research capacity and ability to innovate. COST serves European research, helping to fill the gap between science, the decision-makers and society across Europe and beyond.

In July 2017 a first Art of Hosting training for the entire staff has been organised to this end. Since then the COST Association is conducting pilot meetings using the Art of hosting techniques. In March 2019 a follow-up training has been organised for administrative officers only. There it became apparent, that in order to reach the goals of running all MC1 meetings in a participatory way and brining all of the organisation in this area to the level of excellence, COST would benefit most from the accompaniment of an experienced senior Art of Hosting practitioner and trainerduring and with the meetings themselves rather than in a more abstract training experience.

Due to the Covid regulations the focus was laid on virtual work within the company. Therefore we had several online trainings on online meetings. …………..
