How can social encounter touch us, instead of hurting us?
How do spaces come about in which we're allowed to honestly and authentically question and discuss things? One worldview tells us that we must always have an immediate opinion, be prepared, and turn to experts before we're at a loss ourselves. In today's complexity, we need, once again, an attitude of the heart that allows us to first live a question, before solving it together with the help of the wisdom of many, drawing on experiences from the most diverse walks of life.
A salon is a place of encounter where people communicate with one another, on equal footing, about what truly matters. Through the connection of inspiring conversations, that special something emerges which creates space for innovation and creativity. The place — the space between public and private, the salon space — draws us and its guests under its spell. Here, you don't need to know anyone, and yet you're warmly welcome. That's what we call "Salonhosting" — the reinvention of salon culture for today's world. Today, such places are once again in high demand: to exchange thoughts away from public opinion, to try out something new, without immediately having to "prove yourself."
Come and experience how new properties or new structures emerge through the interplay of people — properties with the power to change our systems. The special mix of people from very different walks of life gives us the diversity needed for new perspectives. Let's sharpen our tools — our perception, our appreciation and our empathy. Perhaps then we can also succeed, once again, in creating more appreciative spaces on social media, and in leading more appreciative dialogues than is currently the practice.
What do I get out of it?
A solution to a question that has been on my mind for a long time; clarity on a project that I'm still missing. A framework for substantial dialogue will be created using the Art of Hosting facilitation method "Pro Action Café." This makes possible exciting conversations with interesting people — in the diversity that is typical of our salon evenings. Salon guests without a project idea or concern of their own are especially welcome — as valuable contributors of impulses, or as inspiring listeners.
Schedule
Relaxed arrival from 6:00 pm, start at 6:30 pm. After a brief input on the overarching theme, we move into dialogue on concrete concerns and ideas. Our dialogue runs until around 10:30 pm. As is salon tradition, food and drink will also be provided, delivered fresh from the Petrus Café Brasserie.

The Bregenzer Salon is located in the heart of Bregenz and is easily accessible by bus and train. The stations "Bregenz Hafen" and "Bregenz Hauptbahnhof" are only a few minutes' walk away. Bus lines are also nearby. Good parking is available at the P5 Rathaus car park – simply follow the parking guidance system.
