Bregenzer Salon Summer Talks with Georg Schweisfurth
After hearing Georg's story and visiting his estate, Gut Sonnenhausen, it was clear: we're inviting Georg Schweisfurth to the Bregenzer Salon! May his story inspire you too! We find the combination of a rigorously entrepreneurial approach with a radically lived commitment to sustainability simply fascinating. His father, too, has long stood for ecological pioneering work. Karl Ludwig once ran the largest meat-processing company in Europe. "Wenn's um die Wurst geht, Herta" — that was the slogan back then. Factory farming led to growing unease within the family and, eventually, to a radical change of course. In the 1980s came the shift to organic farming, at a time when there were still few role models for it. It took some painful experiences before the newly founded Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten became profitable and the lovingly produced goods could also be sold successfully. In recent years, Georg Schweisfurth has developed Gut Sonnenhausen into a sustainably run seminar hotel, which was a great inspiration for us at the Bregenzer Salon. Georg Schweisfurth will share the story of his life, talk about his own ventures and projects, and show us what each of us can do.
Afterwards, we invite you to a dialogue, inspired by Georg's story, to go deeper into the possibilities that matter to us. Between rounds of dialogue, as always at our salon evenings, we will be treated to culinary delights.
For the first time in Bregenz, on this theme, we will experience WortKunst (word art) from the Sprachkabinett.

The Bregenzer Salon is located in the heart of Bregenz and is easily accessible by bus and train. The stations "Bregenz Hafen" and "Bregenz Hauptbahnhof" are only a few minutes' walk away. Bus lines are also nearby. Good parking is available at the P5 Rathaus car park — simply follow the parking guidance system.
