Establishing good collaboration

“Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”
– Etienne Wenger

Emergent collaborative practices connect us to the source or root of what it is we are doing together. Practicing together with peers over time creates connection, openness and shared vision between members of a group. I firmly believe that Communities of Practice are the only effective way to long-term, self-sustaining change. Over time and practice any group will evolve their own distinct culture through these methods, bringing transformative shifts to any kind of organisation while staying true to their core principles.

I guide and support the establishment of Communities of Practice which have these methodologies embedded in their culture. Such groups allow for longer term and deeper processes of innovation, transformation and collaboration to take place within an organisation or community.

The building blocks of an effective Community of Practice are shared purpose, a sponsor in the organisation, trust and confidence, dedicated people and a safe space. Together we will cultivate the conditions for your Community of Practice to take root and grow. The core group is the seed of any community, and so I will work closely with you to align on your invitation and protect the integrity of your original intent throughout the process.
